Bead Crochet

Several readers have asked about the bead crochet project I spoke of some time back. I finished it pretty fast but wanted to make a focal bead for it. It's finally done and linked in to this post. (Click on the title.)

Holly, that's nice, very nice. How hard is it to do? I crochet but have never tried anything like that.

Annie, It is a little harder than regular to get started... You spend a lot of time threading beads on. But basically you have to move one bead to one side so the cord goes around it for each stitch. Once you get the hang of that, it's easy!

I am going to put this on my "to-learn" list. I know I'll be able to do it; I'm pretty crafty. Right now I'm knitting a lace shawl and that is taking all my creative attention right now. I put my weaving projects on hold, half done, so I could focus on the shawl in hopes of finishing it for a party in late September. Then, maybe I'll try the bead crochet. Oh, fun is in store.

That's so pretty! It reminds me of Indian corn. Perfect for fall.
