Sometimes She Needs Her Mom

I know this post won't do much for Mabel Lou's (or any rottweiler's) image as a bad arsed dog, but I get the biggest kick out of what a big ole baby my girl is. There are times she wakes up in the middle of the night (bad dreams??), drapes her body across mine and  digs my hand out of the covers. It just kills me!

I can't believe I was lucky enough to have my phone close by when she did this in daylight.

I once heard Martha Stewart say that one of things she liked about chows is that they are not very needy when it comes to humans. Well, put me down on record as saying that one of the things I love about rottweilers (and all the German dogs I have loved: shepherds and dobermans), is that they thrive with MORE attention. I love a dog that loves to be petted. And if they like to rough house and yet can play a (gentle) game of bitey face with a human, even better!
But I will never cease to be amused by what needy little love bugs they can be... if you don't mind being awakened by 100 pounds of fur on top of you!

My MOM never minds being awakened by 78lbs of Weimeraner. And I LOVE that she loves to pet me whenever I need her to. Or whenever I want her to.
Blessings,
Goose

I usually wake up with Millie draped over me. She likes to lay next to you and then flip over so her legs hang over your body. It does get warm sometimes, but I never make her move.

We don't think it should ever be any other way. Mom says she will reserve her comment about Martha:)

Oh, these are such sweet pictures. I do this to my mom, too, but I weigh a little less than you do ...but it's not the size of the dog, but the size of the cuddle!

It's sweet cuddles that we also love about our furry pals. We love it everytime we get pats and belly rubs from Piappies Mom sometimes we even try to get her hand to our heads all at the same time.

Your photos are great, Mabel Lou!

We just love them even though they wake us up at 3am.

I'm glad your phone was handy, too. That top photo is SO sweet! Makes me feel all warm and gooey inside.

I prefer dogs that want to be petted too, although odd enough, I did love my little schnauzer, Wendy, who would get up and walk away if I petted her very long. She was my constant companion--going everywhere I went--for almost 17 years, and if I left her someplace, even with Peggy there, she would leave and come looking for me. She did this twice, and both times I met her walking along the road when I returned.

Big babies. Mango would do the same thing. Sometimes he would wake me in the night staring at me in the bed (a bit disconcerting). He didn't want to go out, he wanted me to snuggle with him.
