Isn't that the cutest thing?? And Mabel can eat off a fork! what was she eating, anyway? (I notice Granny didn't make her eat her vegetables...)
Oh Janet, I meant to transpose the dialog. My mom's Southern accent is a hoot!
We were having Salmon patties and cucumber salad. Mabel is a brat to my mom( all my {previous} dogs really take advantage of her...she allows it!) She just parks with her nose practically in her plate.
After Mom kisses her, she tells Mabel "That's a sweet girl."
When she gives her the second bite and starts raking the food around with her own fork (not Mabel's fork - Mom always puts an extra fork at her plate for Mabel!!), she tells Mabel, "Now, you may not like it but you're not getting that last piece."
I'm saying "Oh, you're being MEAN to the baayy - beee," but before it comes out of my mouth, Mom has already grabbed Mabel's fork and is giving her the last piece!
Then she asks Mabel one of my favorite Southern expressions: "You love me???"
Cute! Thanks for the dialog! Spot likes salmon patties too, it surprises me that dogs like fish!
Janet, ALL my dogs have loved fish! The night before Maggie died, Mom cooked catfish and Mags had a whole piece! She loved it! Dogs love almost any kind of protein.
Janet, I'm officially giving you the 'Women with Power Tools' award too! Especially since you work with fire and torches. So go claim one for yourself and pass it on! Carmon
