Product Review: Furminator Dual Brush for Dogs

Helloooo good peeps and pups of Blogville! Macy Blue here.

Momma has been sooo busy, I can't believe she's doing my Chewy.com review today... the last day of the month! She better not get me fired!

O.K. Momma, what delectable treat did Chewy send me this month? ...Uh what's that? They didn't send TREATS??? Whadeysendme?

A Furminator??? You're gonna brush me??? I'm not so sure about this.... but I guess we better try it. You do the 'splaining part OK?

Macy Mom here. The Furminator Dual Brush for Dogs has ...duh...TWO sides... a metal pin brush side and... a nylon bristle brush side:

Macy Blue is a bit skittish being brushed...more of her trust issues at play. But she did give in and just go with it... eventually. The pin side is made to be gentle as you can see by the rounded head on the pins:

But Macy didn't really like that side. I only noticed later on the Chewy website that the pin side is best for long coated dogs.

You can see the tracks of the brush in her short fur:

Macy really warmed up to the nylon side and I think she likes it better than the regular Furminator I use on her. I ended up loving it. As you all know, my budget is not great. I recently researched and decided to switch Macy's month flea and tick meds from the big budget $60 for six months to one that was $20 for six months. My one complaint about the new meds is that it seemed to just sit on her furs and never really sink in the way the expensive kind did... And then the Furminator Dual Brush arrived.

The nylon bristles did an excellent job of spreading her meds around and overall, made me feel much better about trying to save on flea and tick meds. And it picked up lots of hair!

Thanks Momma!   Welp, I put getting brushed right up there with getting a bath. I've gotten over my extreme fear of both thanks to Momma's gentle hands but...I don't really LOVE doing it either!

Macy Blue gives Furminator Dual Brush for Dogs  four paws up and I give it two thumbs up!

Neither Creekhiker nor Macy Blue were compensated for this review. Mr Chewy sent one  Furminator Dual Brush for Dogs for Macy Blue to enjoy... or not.She also received a bag of her favorite Merrick treats... and was over the moon!

Great review! We tried that brush, too. Ruby didn't like the pin side as much, but she loved the nylon side.

Two sides would be good, I guess. Of course, I just put the cat in him kennel every night and power wash him, and that also works. Ha. This was just another of my constant fantasies, so don't rat me out.

We are crazy about being brushed either but it sure does make the furs shine.

I love that you've learned to almost like those things because of your mom's gentle approach.

Wowsa!! That is sooooo cool gurl! Hey, I don't like my leggies brushed AT ALL!!! You should see the 'dance' I do when Ma tries to brush them!! BOL!!!!
I thinks this brush would be FABulous on my long curly furs, and my short back furs!! Pawsome review!
Have you tried the oral flea meds before? I was just asking, because about six months ago, I stopped wanting to take them, and when I did, I just threw them up. So nows, Ma is stuck with all this expensive oral flea meds that she can't use! If you can use them, you are more than welcome to them! Let me know, and I'll go check the name of them.
Kisses,
Ruby ♥

We may have to see if they have a kitty version for the every-shedding Bogey. The Furminator works, but he's not crazy about it at all.
