Time for another Man on the Moon....
They can put a man on the moon but they can never explain to me why my dog will stand in front of her bowl of water, thirsty and crying because there is a SPECK of sand in the dish but joyously drinks from our muddy, greasy, burnt smelling creek!

Here's the reason. Mabel is passive-aggressive, and she's doing her damnedest to drive you crazy. That's the only possible possibility.
I wonder that about Spot's outdoor water dish-he will greedily drink from it before I can check to see if there's bird crap in it, but he'll turn up his nose at his indoor dish if it's a bit too warm for his taste.
