Cottonwoods

The area we call Dirty Creek is lined with Cottonwood Trees. I wrote about them earlier this year.

Our winds have been brisk lately and the airborne fluff from the trees is collecting all around our hiking spot. Luckily, the dogs don't seem to mind!

pee s -- while we're woofin' about senior dog toots, lemme just fill you in on asa. my big sis is full of hot air, and she likes to let you know it. i swear she gets jet propulsion every time she let's it rip. then she comes runnin' over to mama or daddy like she doesn't know what just happened. me, on the other hand...i like to drop a nice SBD in the middle of the room. bonus points if everybodee's in the middle of eatin' supper or somethingie. HEEHEE.

Are those the thingies that make peeps with allergies get all sneezy? When we see them all collected there, it makes us think you might have some snow there:)

The trees we call cotton wood around here dump their seeds in the spring. I wonder if they are the same or different trees.

Here in Oregon, cottonwoods only put out seeds in the late Spring, so I'm astounded that you have them now. Do they reproduce twice a year in southern Cal?

I just think all the seeds don't come down until our fall winds hit.

Oddly, this is one of the few things on the planet that doesn't seem to set off my allergies!
